Current Title Holder
According to a Moti News report, Varsha Ragoobarsing is a 27-year-old who grew as a tomboy until the radical change that eventually led to her integration into the world of sequins and rhinestones. As a winner of the 2015 edition of Miss Eco, she isn’t new to pageant contests.
Her mother, Kavita Devi, who groomed this beauty queen from Flacq said, “She is from a modest family of five who grew up as a child not liking dolls like other girls her age. Instead, she, along with both her brothers, will climb trees, go fishing in the river, and get dirty playing in the mud.”
Her paradigm shift began when her childhood friend, Abhishek, began influencing her towards female fashion. He sometimes gifts her with jewellery, glam clothing, and designer shoes as well as makeup boxes. Gradually, the one-time ‘tomboy’ became a fairy goddess after the makeover.
“Now that she holds the Miss Universe Mauritius crown, nothing has changed about her good personality. She remains the very same Varsha, a village girl from the East.” Kavita Devi, her mum said. She will soon be flying to contest for the Miss Universe 2018 contest.
Varsha plans to launch her own consultancy agency to assist young people in dire need. The realization of these projects motivates her and will propel her in the years to come.
